さて、マチュピチュ復旧の最新情報です。
「Piso de Valle」という名で知られている（私は初耳）ルートが、旅行者に許可されれば、
3月中にマチュピチュ再開も可能だという話になっているそうです。
現在すでに地域住民が利用しているとのこと。
が、トレッキングルートなのでマチュピチュまでに3日かかるとのこと。
途中でキャンプするんですね。

このPiso de Valleというルートは、Inca Trailとして知られているルートとは別のようです。
というのも以下の記事で、Piso de Valleというルートの紹介がされているのですが、
古代に作られたInca Trailに比べて、アップダウンがゆるく、短いとあります。
でもInca Trailもガイドブック上では3泊4日かかるとあるので似た感じなのかなとも思います。
クスコとマチュピチュの間の82km地点から開始というのもInca Trailと一緒ですしね。

The tour will include bus transportation from Cusco to the 82 km mark of the railway to Machu Picchu; and then, “instead of taking the traditional Inca Trail, tourists will trek this shorter alternative route,” said the official.
“The traditional trail is long, people have to trek up and down. The Piso de Valle route covers some plain areas and will take adventurers directly to Wiñay Wayna, the last campsite before Machu Picchu,” he said.
